The Romanian football team is ranked 16th in the world according to FIFA ranking table, an average spot for a team that used to be third, but also 57th. The team is one of the only four European teams to participate in the first ever World Cup, in 1930. However, the team that was founded in 1909 in Bucharest have not seen much success. The team's best achievement was at the 1994 World Cup, when they have reached the quarterfinals. Other than that, the team managed to board a few World Cups, but not to win a single one, or even get any closer to the finals. With the European Championship, there was no difference. In 2000, Romania reached their highest peak - again, the quarter finals. However, there is also a bright side to the Romanian Football team's career: at the Balkan Cup, the team came out victorious 4 times!
