Germany National Football Team

Germany National Football Team
The German National Football Team, Also known as Nationelf (national eleven) or Die Mannschaft (the Team), is considered one of the best teams in the world. The team holds a number of titles, including many world cups and European championships, and in rated fourth in FIFA's world rating. The history of the team is as complicated as the history of Germany that was divided between the years 1949-1990 to east and west (until the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989). During those years, Germany had two national teams - East Germany and West Germany. However, six years after the union, the German National Team already won the Euro Cup in 1996.

Throughout the years, Germany had established its position as a leading team and kept winning more and more titles. In 2006, Germany hosted the World Cup, only to finish third. In an unforgettable match in 2014 World Cup, Germany beat the Brazilian team 7:1 - the highest score that was won against the Brazilians, securing its status as one of the best teams in the world (after all, the Brazilian team is not to be taken lightly).

At the bidding that took place in Paris in December it was decided the Germany will compete in the third group, and its first two matches are already set - 12 June against the Ukrainian team (in Lille), and 16 June against Poland (in Saint-Denis, Paris). Will Germany manage to hold on to its status after Euro 2016? We will have to wait and see.
