Spain National Football Team

Spain National Football Team
The Spain National Team, also known as La Furia (the Fury), or La Roja (the red), was formed in 1920, and is ranked third at the FIFA world ranking. The team won the World Cup in 2010 and the European Championship in 1964, 2008 and 2012.

The team suffered greatly from the nation bloody history, and did not participate in the World Cup or any other tournament from 1938-1950, due the civil war and the Second World War. In 1960, the team refused to play in the USSR against the USSR team due to political reasons, and lost the European Championship. However, in 1964, the Spanish won the championship after beating the USSR 2-1. It was the Spanish first global achievement, one that they will restore only 44 years later.
In 1992, the Reds managed to make their comeback, but it was not easy. The team managed to climb high in tournaments all through the 90's and 2000's, but without any titles. In 2008, the drought was over, and the team won the European championship for the first time in years, a title that they regained in 2012.
