Rio Olympic Games

Rio Olympic Games
2016 Olympics Games will be held in Rio de Janeiro - capital city of Brazil. These are the 31st Olympics Games in the modern era, since the revival of the games in 1896. Two years after hosting the World Cup, Rio de Janeiro is the first city in South America to host the Olympics, and the third time that the summer games will actually take place in the winter.

28 sports, 41 disciplines and a total of 306 events, make up the biggest sports event of the world, where at least 169 countries will compete for gold, silver, and bronze medals. This year, for the first time, Kosovo and South Sudan will send their athletes and participate. Athletes from countries such as Albania, Gabon, Syria, Bermuda, Saint Kitts and Nevis and even refugees from all over the world are going to compete in diving, table tennis, boxing, badminton and even trampoline - the summer Olympics have it all.

The Olympic flame will start burning in April 2016, and will reach Rio de Janeiro for the summer olympics opening ceremony in August 5. The games will last for 3 weeks, until August 21, and after that, we will wait for four more years until the next summer Olympics, in 2020 in Tokyo. However, until then, we can join the Olympic mascots, Vinicius and Tom, as they watch the games at every one of the venues, and amuse all the kids in the area, who care more about the cartoons than about weightlifting.

So, what are your plans for August? Will you sit glued to the television screen or would you like to watch the games in person, while chatting with other cycling or football fans? Get your Rio Olympics tickets with Doctorticket and do not miss your favorite sports events!
