Manchester United
Manchester United is often described as being one of the most popular and loved Premier League teams in the UK. The team was founded in in 1878 under a different name, and became the Manchester United that we know today in 1902, with the changing of its name, and the establishment of the red football kit that the team has become known for. Liverpool FC, being established in 1892 in the Anfield Stadium has now become one of the UK Premier League top teams, having won the Champion's League 5 times, and many other trophies since its establishment.The team had been through ups and downs until Bill Shankly became manager in 1959, who went on to lead the team to win many more championships and matches in almost all leagues, including their first FA cup final and winning the UEFA Cup in 1973 against a German team. The team's over 29 million Facebook likes and over 6 million Twitter followers are an indication of the loyalty of the team's fans who are known for their intense passion for their team. Liverpool matches, both at Anfield at at away games are renowned for the extremely passionate fans who constantly chant and support the players during games. Many Liverpool players claim that the support of fans is what encourages them to be as successful as they are, and are the result of Liverpool being top of the Premier League tables.
