| AFC Bournemouth, founded in 1890 as Boscombe St. John's Institute F.C, and later becoming nicknamed "The Cherries", and known as AFC Bournemouth, have been based at their current stadium since 1910, known as Dean Court in Bournemouth, Dorset. Although Bournemouth may not be as well known or popular as teams like Arsenal, Liverpool, or Chelsea, Bournemouth have remained a prominent team to beat in the Premier League. The team competed for the FA Cup in the 1913-14 season, for their first time, but before the team's progress was paused due to the outbreak of the First World War. After the war, the team joined the Hampshire League, and then the Southern League. In 1972, the club became known as Bournemouth, establishing them with a neater and simpler name than their previous titles. One of AFC's biggest achievements that they are most proud of, is their FA Cup win against Manchester United in 1984. Manager at the time, Harry Redknapp describes that day as "the greatest day of my life", and is, until now, one of the team's proudest moments.
